Washing Instructions

  • Hand Wash Recommended (Best Practice): Turn the dress inside out. Hand wash in cold water using a mild, gentle detergent. Do not wring or twist the fabric, as this can damage delicate tulle layers or loosen embellishments.
  • Machine Wash (Alternative): If using a machine, turn the dress inside out and place it inside a mesh laundry bag. Wash on the delicate/gentle cycle using cold water and a low-spin setting.
  • Separate Colors: Always wash the dress separately or with like colors to prevent any color transfer onto lighter fabrics.

Drying & De-Wrinkling

  • Air Dry Only: Lay the dress flat on a clean, dry towel or hang it up to air dry completely. Never place the dress in a tumble dryer, as high heat will damage delicate tulle, melt adhesives on embellishments, and shrink the satin.
  • Steaming (Recommended): To remove wrinkles and restore the full volume of the skirt, use a garment steamer on a low heat setting. Steam gently from a slight distance.
  • Ironing (Caution): If an iron must be used, set it to the lowest possible heat setting (satin/silk setting) and place a clean, thin cloth or pressing towel between the iron and the dress. Do not iron directly onto tulle or embellishments.

Spot Cleaning & Embellishments

  • Targeted Stain Removal: For minor spots, use a damp cloth with a drop of mild soap to gently dab the area. Do not scrub vigorously.
  • Protecting Details: If the dress features detachable accessories, pins, or specific trims, remove them prior to washing to protect both the hardware and the fabric.

Storage Tips

  • Hanging: Store the dress on a padded or appropriately sized hanger in a cool, dry closet. Ensure the tulle layers are smoothed down to maintain their shape.
  • Avoid Compression: Do not crowd the dress tightly between heavy winter coats or garments, as crushing the tulle can cause it to lose its whimsical bounce and structure over time.
